Instructional Camps are a great way to learn new skills and polish the old ones. We offer fun and exciting camps where kids will learn the basic fundamentals to help grow and improve their game in small group environments. Camps are held over spring break, summer and during school holidays.
Our students will learn the fundamentals of baseball and softball and improve on throwing, catching, fielding, stretching, conditioning, general defense, hitting, ball grip, pitching, drills, base running, basics of swing, running form, fly balls, ground balls, game purpose, essential game rules, fun and more fun.
We teach all aspects of baseball and softball. Each player is evaluated individually to determine their current skill level as a base. We work with players on hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and more. Result speeds will vary from player to player but improvements can be noticed just after the very first session. Private lessons are taught by strong back-grounded coaching professionals and are designed for 30 minute sessions per skill focus for optimum retention.

Carlos Acosta - Program Director
Carlos Acosta (Coach Carlos) has developed his baseball career through more than 25 years. He served as coach and field coordinator during 14 years at the “Playball” Baseball Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He Supervised scouts in the area of Venezuela for the Montreal Expos (MLB) (1993-2002) and for Florida Marlins (MLB) (2002-2008) and was the Director of Operations for Pastora de Los Llanos BBC (LVBP) (2000-2006) and the Bravos de Margarita BBC (LVBP) (2006-2009) in Venezuela. Currently He operates his own academy, Spring Klein Baseball Academy, developing many coaches and players.
In his playing years, Acosta was part of the Steve Hertz roster at Miami Dade Community College; signed as catcher by the New York Yankees organization and sent to their affiliate in The Dominican Republic, likewise played for Navegantes del Magallanes (LVBP) minor league team, in Rubio, Venezuela.
Happy for his baseball years and his positive influence in young baseball players, Coach Carlos now accepts the task of directing our activities at the facility.
Calvin Murray - Hitting Instructor
He was the batter facing Randy Johnson when Johnson hit a dove with a fastball in a spring training game in 2001. He is the younger brother of Kevin Murray, who was a quarterback at Texas A&M University from 1983 to 1986 and the uncle of 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray.
Calvin has been teaching private hitting instruction for over 15 years in the Spring area and continues to work with many young ball players today. His philospohy of having a good attitude, and putting in the work will yield postive results.
David Clyde - Pitching Instructor
David is a former MLB pitcher having Major League level careers with both the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians. He was a former #1 Draft Pick with 18 MLB Wins, 228 MLB Strikeouts, 416 MLB innings pitched and a lifetime ERA of 4.63. David holds a National High School record having thrown 842 Strikeouts and was inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame.
David’s Coaching career includes over 40+ years of coaching and 30+ years of individual pitching lessons developing countless pitchers who have grown to see their potential playing well into High School, College, and Professional careers.
Core Christian values, integrity, hard work and conditioning are all part of the complete pitching game that David conveys. He is a positive influence to young athletes and has the patience for beginners as well as the experience to work with the most advanced.
Ramon "Smokey" Ortiz - Hitting Instructor
Ramon “Smokey” Ortiz is a professional hitting coach with over 29 years of experience in the coaching ranks, 19 of them within the Cardinals organization. Ortiz has also spent time as a coach with the Dodgers, Rays, and Yankees organizations. Under the watch of Ortiz, the 2010 Johnson City club led the Appalachian League in almost every major batting category on their way to winning the Appalachian League Championship. He is a native from Maracay, Venezuela.
